15 years of experience in politics and public affairs, in The Hague and Brussels. Two common threads in my career are politics and financial sector. When studying history, I studied abroad in the US for a year and became very interested in politics. My first job was in Dutch Parliament as an aid to an MP whom I assisted on fiscal issues. Next I promoted the political interests of the Dutch organization of Auditors (NBA). This job took me to Brussels often and where I became familiar with the European institutions and the workings of the European Union. After 7 years at a major Dutch bank I know ‘The Hague’, ‘Brussels’ and the financial sector intimately. This background enables me to support Public Matters’ clients.

Personal

My time off is for my family and friends. I try to play tennis as often as possible and I love to read.
