Decision-making has always fascinated me more than the outcome itself. I want to understand how political choices are made, which interests come together and what policy ultimately means in practice. Based on that interest, I have built up a broad background in which societal and economic developments strengthen each other.
During my internship at the Dutch Embassy in Washington, D.C., I was responsible for monitoring and interpreting political and economic developments in the United States and assessing their impact on the Netherlands. This primarily involved sharp filtering: what is changing, what does this mean for The Hague and for Dutch businesses, and what should be paid attention to? It is precisely this ability to identify key developments, interpret them, and communicate them clearly that I recognize in the work of Public Matters and in which I would like to further develop.
Personal
In my free time, I enjoy playing sports (hockey, tennis, and golf) and regularly attend concerts. I listen to a lot of music and like spending time with friends, whether that’s watching a football match, going out for drinks, or making spontaneous plans.
