With Gieneke Talsma joining Public Matters as a Senior Advisor – another very skilled and experienced public affairs expert is added to the Public Matters team.
Extensive political experience in The Hague and Brussels
Gieneke started her career as personal assistant within the Christian Democratic party (CDA), from where she soon got promoted to be the political assistant of Mr. Maxime Verhagen, who was the Minister of Foreign Affairs. After having worked as a Counsel-advisor within the Cabinet of the Prime Minister for a few years, she made a switch to the private sector working for Rabobank, as their Director of Corporate Social Responsibility. More recently Gieneke was a self-employed public affairs advisor in Brussels and she was an associate partner within another consultancy firm in The Hague.
Generating support for ideas and plans is key
Having worked in Brussels for five years she has now returned to The Hague with her husband and children. In her new role, Gieneke will be supporting companies and other organisations regarding the development and execution of effective public affairs strategies: “Generating support for ideas and plans is key – regarding which I use my extensive network. It brings me a lot of joy and satisfaction to succeed in influencing public opinion and to you see good ideas becoming reality.”
